3 Week Old Developments

Here they all are for their 3-week-old photo shoot! The puppies are walking around quite well now, and have learned to playfully growl and paw at each other. They are so cute! One puppy (we still aren't sure which one, though) even knows how to sing! We were playing the piano the other evening, and he was howling with every high note that we hit! We're also really excited to notice that the puppies aren't all white after all! They're getting Blenheim colored ears and spots like their mama.

Puppies Two Weeks Old

Here are the updated pictures for week #2! The puppies are just starting to walk around, although they're still quite wobbly. They learned to playfully growl now, and it's so cute to listen to them! I can tell they're going to be outgoing and intelligent. They're very inquisitive, which a good sign.

Names

Hello everyone! The puppies have all been officially named, so if you were planning to give me suggestions, I'm very sorry, 'cause I beat you to it! :-)

My name-theme for this litter is Birds, and so here's the names my family and I picked out for the pups: 

Males: 1. Jay   2. Lark   3. Kestrel 

Females: 1. Chickadee "DeeDee"   2. Phoebe

Here's Nikki and her new babies. She absolutely adores them, and is being such a good mama that I'm very proud of her!

(If you can't see all the puppies, it's because the one puppy is laying somewhat on top of the fifth puppy.) Aren't they cute? Praise the Lord for five healthy babies! He's so good! 

Hey, does anyone have any name suggestions? I know it's a little early... but, hey, if you've got a good name idea, I just might pick it later! :-)

Puppies!

Five beautiful, healthy puppies born by Cesarian at about 9:30 pm - 10:00 pm on Wednesday, March 28th, 2012. There are three males and two females--all white. We are SO happy!

Labor!

Hey everyone! Just a quick note to let you know that Nikki's in labor! She came upstairs to wake me up at 5:30 this morning, and has been progressing ever since. Updates on the total number in her litter COMING SOON! :-)

Nikki's "Nest"

There is only ONE WEEK left before Nikki's due date (April 1st, '12)! She is now "nesting" and waiting for her puppies to come!

Grooming Nikki

Hello everyone! On Tuesday March 20th, a little less than two weeks before Nikki's due date (April 1st), we took her to the groomers to get her cleaned up and ready to have pups! Here's some photos from the experience!

Someone's Getting a Tummy...

Hey everyone! I've got a great update for you all! Nikki's getting a tummy! Not that she didn't have one before, but now instead of being the blubbery "I-love-to-eat" tummy, it a hard, stretched "I'm-going-to-have-puppies-soon" tummy! A couple other great signs of pregnancy that we've noticed are as follows:

- Nikki has been lagging behind on walks, instead of bouncing ahead like she usually does...
- She's been eating a lot! Not that she didn't eat a lot before, but now she's eating more than her usually "lot!"
- She's been "nesting." She now seems to be sleeping much more and just lazing around all the time in her bed.

All these are great signs that we're going to have a litter of puppies in about a month (around April 1st, 2012--no fooling)! Check back or follow this blog for additional updates in the coming weeks! Can't wait for the puppies!
